Country Baskets
Evening all,
Long time no blog eh! I've had a crazy few weeks moving house and also going away with work!
I wanted to do this post before I moved house but as you can imagine I was swamped with boxes and bubble wrap galore.
I was contacted a while back by Country Baskets, an online retailer for artificial flowers and craft and party supplies. They very generously offered me the choice of some flowers- now anyone who knows me personally will know I have terrible track record for looking after living plants so artificial ones are THE ones for me.. near to no maintenance (apart from a bit of dusting now and again..) but still really pretty if you spend a few extra £'s.
I chose peonies, bluebells and antique peach orchids. They, to me, are timeless classics and I of course was thinking of them matching the new decor in my house.
Here are a few pictures of them in situ!
I love these peonies. I had the standard trip to ikea when I moved in and bought this cute milk bottle to pop the flowers in. I think they look so cute! The picture in the background is one that i received in an instagram swap I did- me and Kirsty did a swap of handmade items and this is one of the bits she sent me.
These antique roses are a gorgeous orange/peach colour, I love the intricacy of them, lots of detail has gone into making them- to me this shouts quality!
These bluebells are a lovely pop of colour when teamed with the roses!
I decided to display them on my newly Annie Sloan painted chest of draws. If you haven't used/heard of Annie Sloan PLEASE look it up... its been my go to paint over the last couple of weeks- the great thing is you don't even have to prepare the piece you are wanting to paint- just up my street eh.. no planning or preparation!
I've got another bunch of peonies waiting to go into place in our new place but.. as always theres plenty more unpacking to do.. this is the vase i got for them off ebay recently-
Another oddity to add to my collection!
Once I've done with the unpacking I was thinking of doing a house tour post.. would you like to nosey round my new place? I am obsessed with other peoples houses.. i'll admit it now.. I'm one of those who can't help but look in windows as walking past... not a weirdo..i promise!
Country Baskets also have a fab xmas range to prettify your house and make it all festive!
Here are some of the pieces I've got my eye on-
