Pretty cycling goes hand in hand with french fashion...

Monday, 21 April 2014

Evening all,

How's your bank holiday been? Mines been pretty dismal if I'm honest, caught the dreaded flu so I've  locked away for most of the time off!

Whilst stuck indoors I've been dreaming of the summer and with that comes thoughts of things to do and of course things to buy!

My first purchase of the summer is going to be a new bike.I found out recently that through my work I can get one, most workplaces do the Cyclescheme plans. It basically means they sub you some vouchers and then you pay it back monthly out of your wage.. pretty good huh?

Of course being a fashion conscious person I'm not going to settle for any ol ugly bike am I?!

This is the beaut I've chosen-

Bobbin Metropole £299

Isn't she lovely?! Okay it may be a little plain looking in this picture... but imagine a lovely (and practical!) basket on the front with some flowers in.

Bobbin do a large amount of colours for this bike but I thought I'd keep it simple, easier to match with out outfit eh?

I've also found THE most lovely helmet.. yes helmet... its must! The one I've chosen is by a designer called Sawako Furuno. Originally from Tokyo she is said to be keen on designing products that stand out and move away from the typically unattractive cycling accessories.

Sawako Furuno Helmet £68

So all I'm waiting for now is it all to arrive!

So.. all that leaves me to do is dream about the outfits I could wear whilst cruising round on my ultra vintage looking bike.

I love the french feel of this La Redoute collection-

The Breton Stripe collection @ La Redoute

I can just imagine arriving for work in this outfit-

I'd then team all this up with a pop of colour and comfort-

Coral ballet pumps £29.50

ahh...you can never beat a bit of Parisian chic can you!

Do you like the bike I'm getting?

What are your plans for summer?

Pugglie earrings

Wednesday, 9 April 2014

Love pugs and little animals? Like to buy handmade items?... well heres a treat for you!

A few weeks back I received a little surprise package from my ma including these cutesie little earrings! They are so adorable and the best thing is.. they are made here in the UK by person (yes person.. not machine!) called Bex.

Bex is an illustrator from London who says most people would describe her as a little eccentric but with a heart in the right place!

The creative lady also mentions on her Etsy shop that she loves to bring out human emotions and characteristics within her illustrations. Each one has a little story behind it and once its popped into one of the handmade envelopes Bex's uses the little animal is on its new epic journey to our houses!

I haven't been an earring person lately but I think I'm going to give these a go soon. I like the idea that they are pretty individual and I won't see everyone else wearing them!

The pugglie earrings cost £5 (plus postage)

Here are some of Bex's other pieces that I'm lusting over-

Guinea pig stud earrings £5
Tropical parrot necklace £12.50

Pink flamingo brooch £9

Pug dog necklace £12.50
Aren't they adorable?

Each piece of jewellery for sale on her Etsy site has a really sweet description and tells you a bit more about how she makes them!

What animal jewellery would you wear? I adore sausage dogs and peacocks at the moment but haven't seen many about as jewellery.. Bex ;)

Check out Bex's Etsy store here-

Second Thread

Tuesday, 8 April 2014

So when my good friend Cat set up a new Facebook group titled "Second Thread" I knew something exciting was on the way.

This girl.... she is just about the most creative creature I know. In the midst of working her butt off being a fashion designer for a large well known fashion brand she's somehow managed to set up her own online fashion store.

Secondthread is an online destination for stylish fashion conscious babes around the globe.

Check out some of the pieces I'm lusting over right now......

Grey Edie dress £25
Teamed with a pair of high tops this would look ace for a casual day look. Then wack on some heels and ready to go for the evening!
White clear clutch (also available in hologram silver) £15
Well hello there beautiful thing! Handy hard wearing clutch for all your essentials on a night out! Be careful what you pop in it though.. could get awkward if you know what i mean!

Rose lace jumper £35
A gorgeous soft finish jersey jumper with amazing lace sleeve detail. I could imagine this looking sweet with a little summer skirt and some pumps.

Lola sweater and skirt set (Jumper £25 & skirt £15)Adore this combo set. Not only do they make a perfect office/daytime outfit together but they work great as individual pieces too. My favourite combo at the moment is lightweight jumpers like this with shinny leggings.. would look lovely!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the first pieces released in the second thread range-

Coco beanie £15

I'm a hat person. Bad hair day? Chuck one on and good to go. I've had my fair share of the standard Topshop/Riverisland/highstreet hats over the years and after having this one by Secondthread I'll never go back to the standard ones... the quality of this one is AMAZING! Its really thick and feels a lot more expensive than the 15 quid price tag attached.

Secondthread's new range is due to be released at the beginning of May so check their site out here-

All pieces are either handmade by Secondthread or hand picked on trend pieces.

I'd love to hear what you think of the range so leave you comments below!
